It's almost Thanksgiving! 11/17/08-11/21/08

Next week, November 24-28, is Thanksgiving Holidays. There will be no school on these days! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with their families!

Here are the highlights for this week:

This week, we are learning the following:
Reading/Writing
We are reviewing the “k” sound and words that start with “k”. At home, please continue to review the following words: weeds, seeds, sees, hand, sand, ants, mist, mints. Some are having trouble identifying these words in their reading. Test on Friday!

Math
This week we will be learning about patterns within addition and subtraction. Test Friday!

Language Arts
This week we are learning about adjectives - describing words. We will learn how to add adjectives to sentences to make them more interesting. We will also be able to pick out adjectives in sentences.
Test Friday!

Homework

Monday – Read Well homework; spelling homework

Tuesday – Read Well homework; spelling homework

Wednesday – Read Well homework; spelling homework

Thursday – Read Well homework; math homework

What We're Learning This Week:

Reading/Writing
We are reviewing the “sh” sound and words that start with “sh”. At home, please review the following words: weeds, seeds, sees, hand, sand, ants, mist, mints. Test on Friday!

Math
This week, we are continuing greater than, less than, and equal with two-digit numbers.. We will be learning how to add three digits. Test Friday!

Language Arts
We are now learning about different types of sentences! Last week, we learned question sentences and the question mark. This week, we will review exclamatory sentences and the exclamation mark.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Cookie Dough fundraiser! We had great results and we know our school will greatly benefit from it!
